Position Summary

Reporting to the Fire Chief, the Deputy Fire Chief is a senior administrative, operational and leadership position with responsibility for many aspects of the Fire Service that includes: the planning, organizing, coordinating and directing of all fire suppression and staff training and fire related emergency services operations and programs for the Town of Grimsby. The Deputy Fire Chief is responsible for continuous development and improvement of services and is required to display judgment and initiative on administrative, operational and technical matters, problems and decisions. The Deputy Chief is appointed to act in the position of the Fire Chief in his absence. The Deputy Fire Chief retains the designation as Alternate CEMC.

The Grimsby Youth Action Committee is currenlty seeking members.  The group meets every 3 weeks approximately and works towards enhancing the youth experience in Grimsby through activities, events and awareness opportunities.

Applications are requested to be submitted by Tuesday,November 10th, but may be considered after that date depending upon availability.

The Town of Grimsby, Recreation and Facilities Department offers many volunteer oportunities for youth and adults throughout the year.  Check back here regularly for more opportunities or inquire at the Peach King Centre is you are looking for something that you don't see here.  Some of our volunteer programs for youth do require a small registration fee to cover the adminstrative, uniform and training components.
