New Official Plan Receives Approval From Region Text to speach audio PDF Print E-mail

The Town of Grimsby's new official plan received approval from the Niagara Region yesterday.  The new plan will guide growth to 2031, while protecting the Town's small town character and employment lands.

Mayor Bentley said " After nearly two years of community and stakeholder consultations, and another two years of Regional review, we look forward to finally being able to use our new planning tool to shape future growth and prosperity in our community."

Winston Neighbourhood Secondary Plan Text to speach audio PDF Print E-mail

Winston Neighbourhood Secondary Plan

On November 16, 2009, Grimsby Council passed By-law 09-86, to adopt a Secondary Plan for the Winston Neighbourhood.  The Winston Neighbourhood Secondary Plan affects the lands bounded by Lake Ontario on the north, QEW on the South, Grimsby Water Treatment Plant on the east and Town of Grimsby/City of Hamilton boundary on the west.

The Winston Neighbourhood Secondary Plan has been sent to the Regional Municipality of Niagara for approval.

Any person or public body is entitled to receive Notice of Decision of the Region of Niagara if a written request to be notified of the decision is made to the Region of Niagara.  Requests should be sent to the Regional Municipality of Niagara, 2201 St. David's Road, Thorold, On L2V 4T7.

The Official Plan for the Town of Grimsby was approved by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs on June 30, 1988. The general purpose of the Official Plan is to provide goals, objectives and policies to guide Council on land use matters. Where necessary the Plan also provides guidance with respect to social, economic and environmental matters which are relevant to land use matters.
