The Grimsby Fire Department is proud to be involved with many social and community events. Whether it’s a static information display, a Pumper with full crew or Sparky the fire department mascot, the department is always eager to assist the community with the various non-profit events that are held throughout the year.
All requests for community assistance/displays must be made to the Fire Prevention / Public Education office within two months of the event. All requests will be treated on a first come, first served basis, and are subject to manpower availability. Fees for services may apply.

The Great Canadian Fire Drill |

A National Challenge to Canadian families from the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs (CAFC) and the Fire Marshal's Public Fire Safety Council to prevent home fires and plan and practice fire drills.
This school based campaign with support of Scholastic Canada, encourages Canadian families to plan and practise a home escape plan during Fire Prevention Week or any time during the month of October.
Grimsby residents are encouraged to particpate by:
1. Planning and practicing a home escape plan during Fire Prevention Week or any time during the month of October. 2. Visit www.safeathome.ca/drill and register to be counted. 3. Complete the "Prevent Home Fires" home inspection checklist (on website). 4. Print off your "Great Canadian Fire Drill" Certificate.

Fire Safety Lectures And Tours |

The Grimsby Fire Department offers several educational safety programs that are available at Station One or can be conducted at your location or facility.
Some of these programs are:
- Sparky’s ABC’s (for toddlers) - Sparky’s Home Escape Planning (for toddlers and up) - Grimsby Fire; Who we are and what we do (for all ages) - Fire Safety for Brownies/Guides - Career Day Presentations (for all grades) - Career Studies (High School) - Senior Fire Safety for Older Adults - Fire Extinguisher Training - The Arson Prevention Program for Children (TAPP-C)
Booking a presentation:
All presentations must be booked a minimum of two weeks in advance with the Fire Prevention/Public Education Office and are subject to manpower availability.
