Grimsby's New Official Plan Nears Completion PDF Print E-mail

On Wednesday, November 11, 2009, the Grimsby Planning and Development Committee will be meeting to review and consider the Draft New Grimsby Official Plan. This draft is a cullmination of two years of work, including Public Open Houses, Community Advisory Group consultations, many Planning and Development Committee meetings and a formal Public Meeting.  The document reflects input from a wide variety of sources, and incorporates Provincial and Regional planning policies.

Winston Neighbourhood Secondary Plan Nearing Completion

Planners have reviewed public and agency comments, and have recommended modifications to the draft Winston Neighbourhood Secondary Plan.  Below is a link to the draft Neighbourhood Plan which identifies recommended changes.

Please note that the Planning and Development Committee Meeting of October 27th to discuss the Winston Neighbourhood Plan has now been CANCELLED AND RESCHEDULED FOR November 11, 2009, 7:00 p.m.

We Give Mobility & Support Independence

The Canadian Red Cross provides transportation for the frail, elderly and disabled in the community.  The service is for those unable to use public transportation or private means.

This service is provided to the residents of Grimsby through a partnership between the Canadian Red Cross, The Town of Grimsby and the Hamilton Niagara Haldimand Brant LHIN.

Clients must be approved for service through an application process prior to accessing service.  Applications are available by calling the Canadian Red Cross at  905-680-4099 ext. 256 or 257

(Applications may be completed over the phone for those clients who require assistance with the process.)

Trips Types:  Medical, Shopping, Social, Compassionate & Day Program.

Hours of Operation:  Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm

The Town of Grimsby has put in place Backflow Prevention By-law No. 09-73 to protect the Municipal Drinking Water Distribution System from contamination through cross-connection and backflow.  This important requirement is part of the Town of Grimsby's and the Ontario Ministry of the Environment's multi-barrier commitment to enhance the security of and protect the residents and users of Grimsby's drinking water system.
